Jo Dery- Screenprints

Jo Dery, animator and artist.
Beautiful layered screenprints using multuple colours.
Pieces look digitally created thanks to the clean lines and build up of shape and colour.
Few colours used, generally sticking to simular shades.
Pieces seem to be one off productions, exploiting the screenprinting process for its clean look and the fact it mimics digital techniques.

Meg Hunt- Screenprints

Complex and incredibly detailed screenprints incorporating many different colours and textures.
Pieces look reminiscent of old style cartoons, with the restricted and muted colour pallets and obscure character design in some illustrations.
Many screens would have been used, for many different colours but the overall effect is really intense and
gives the scene a great sense of unity to be made up of a few colours even thought they may seem
very chaotic and full off disjointed characters/narratives.

Aboriginal Art - Lizard Symbols

Some examples of Aboriginal art of Lizards.
Very symbolic, broken into shapes and pattern to represent lizard from.
Minimal use of earthy colours such as browns, blacks and reds.
They display simple shapes, yet can easily create detail with simple patterns that highlight shape and form.
Thinking I may very much like to use aboriginal art/symbols for the experimentation part of the brief.
